Oklahoma gaming is dominated by Native American tribal casinos. Two tribes struck a sports betting deal in 2020, but that was later invalidated by the state’s Attorney General – part of a larger conflict between gaming interests and the government. While Gov. Kevin Stitt came close to pushing sports betting across the line, it remains illegal in Oklahoma. Back at square one, Rep. Ken Luttrell believes his efforts have a solid chance of passing in 2022 and could eventually lead to mobile sports betting, but it is likely several years away. While the citizens of Oklahoma wait for the government to officially approve sports betting, they should check out Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) if they are interested in having action on the games.
