Sports betting currently is not legal in Massachusetts, but that could change. The previous legislative session officially ended on Jan. 4, 2022, with no sports betting legislation passed by the Senate. Lawmakers are now working through a revived bill from last year that would legalize sports betting, but it contains some weird language. Notably, it would ban betting on all types of college sports, prevent bettors from funding accounts with credit cards, and would only allow six (6) online operators in the state. State lawmakers still have a lot to work through before legalized sports betting is a reality in Massachusetts. In the meantime, sports bettors in Massachusetts should consider trying Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) if they are interested in having action on the games!
